Quiet village location near the coastal marshes, but with an adjoining caravan park adding some custom as well as the limited passing trade. Two-part bar area with limited seating, but a larger dining room (with bar food menu) branches off one side. Just Greene King IPA (£4.70) available from a pair of handpumps. Friendly landlady, apologetic for opening slightly late (having been held up in traffic).

A Georgian roadside pub that has seen better days, as has the infrastructure around it. There is an unmade car park at the front, though it’s not huge. At the back is a terrace which would once have had a lovely view over the Graveney marshes, but now just looks out on temporary housing. A large lawned garden is reached down some stairs from the terrace. The rear of the pub is a ramshackle affair and has a bit of a shanty town feel to it, but it is a pleasant enough place to sit and enjoy the breeze. The landlord and landlady were very pleasant too, welcoming and taking care to ensure we were well looked after. We didn’t eat, but the food was home cooked and looked like good value. Only one ale on, GK IPA, which was in average condition and a bit lively. It’s a decent enough pitstop.

This pub is now open again and is being run by a really nice young couple who would appreciate your support. Very friendly, helpful and family orientated. Try it, you'll enjoy yourself.
