Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Royal Oak

Westerham Brewery pub located part-way up the Greensand Ridge, but a welcome stopping point on a long walk (and thankfully I arrived just before the mid-afternoon closure, even on a Saturday). Partly opened-out inside, with a staple-shaped bar area (one end of which has an interesting moulded sign above a disused fireplace) and a dining area off to one side. Surprisingly, none of their own beers were available on a total of five handpumps (although a reversed Spirit of Kent clip could be seen), just London Pride and the local(ish) Larkin's Traditional (£3.60). Extra point for the friendly barman.

A splendid if slightly isolated village pub, it has an attractive exterior with a car park to one side but this was full and street parking only available on an unusually busy road in the middle of nowhere. A staple shaped interior, mostly boarded but a bit of quarry tiled floor at what seemed to be the drinkers end where the TV had Sky Sports News muted on Saturday. The other end was heaving, apparently with a hockey team and associates all eating.
There is a grey and white beamed ceiling, the lower boarded walls are the same grey colour, the dining end walls are fully boarded. Leaded windows, a proper fire on the go, decor has cartoons and caricatures, local photos including the pub and a seriously snowy Christmas in 1970. Some wall mounted tools, rough cast upper walls and scrubbed wooden tables with posies of flowers.
A Westerham Ales pub, three of theirs on, Finchcock's Original, Summer Perle and God's Wallop plus others in bottles.
The food looked good and ample but I didn't see a menu. Nice pub, I liked it here. Tiny toilets though.

Nick Davies left this review about The Royal Oak

Certainly open Sunday afternoons.....and well worth the trip if only to sample Westerham's superb range of beers in perfect condition and quite rightly in the 2011 GBG. Apart from the beer the pub itself isn't anything special, trying to be all things to all people, so there's a pubby bit an one side, and unfortunate sofa infestation in the middle and a more restauranty bit on the other side. Too much of the bare boards and pastel coloured paint on what was perfectly good wood panelling. It has the feel of a gastrification abandoned half way. But very friendly and very pleasant all round and would make a perfect stop when visiting nearby Chartwell.
