Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Waggon at Hale

Upmarket dining pub in the small green gap between the main built-up areas of Gillingham, Chatham and the Hempstead Valley housing estates. The L-shaped interior has been opened out and comprehensively refurbished at some stage but quite well done if you like that kind of thing. With two of the three handpumps in use, I found (the unusual, in this part of the country) Wye Valley HPA and something labelled with a Post-It note as Dark Star Hereford Finwick (£4.30, and whatever it was, a fine hoppy ale in excellent condition).

E TA left this review about Waggon At Hale

The Waggon at Hale was once a lovely country pub sitting in the Badlands between Gillingham and Walderslade; it has become a family eatery of the most vulgar kind. As you approach you notice that the previously attractive and impressive entrance has been marred by the addition of horrible DIY decking of the sort seen on second-rate TV shows and a ramp for prams, pushchairs and mobility scooters. You are also overpowered by the stench of cheap ersatz parmesan, an indication of the "food" served here the the taste bud lacking masses who now gather here. Inside there is an area - once the saloon - marked off as a restaurant, while the once-cosy public bar has been extended and furnished with uncomfortable high tables and a selection of incongruous Chesterfields. The staff are unprofessional and humourless. There were 2 ales on, Doombar and Directors, both served at the right temperature and in good condition. Other than a quick pint of averagely good beer while out walking or visiting Luton Rec, I can see no reason to come back here while it's in its current incarnation.
