Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The George Inn

Attractive old weatherboarded inn on the High Street, with a porticoed entrance and an opened-out interior that still retains a good amount of character. Traditional furniture and decor throughout the staple-shaped bar and further seating / dining areas. Compact, split-level patio beer garden to one side. Friendly service. Six handpumps on the counter, with Greene King IPA, Doom Bar, Hooky, Adnams White Lies, Exmoor Gold and Top of the Hops from the Great Yorkshire Brewery (£3.50). Overall, sat inside here, you could imagine that Beckenham was still a Kentish village...

The George Inn or Ye George Inn depending on which way you look at the pub,is a decent looking pub situated on Beckenhams nice looking high street.
Once inside there is a single U shaped room with the bar facing, the room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and chairs and some normal tables and chairs, there was a TV to the left showing BBC news.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of St Austell Tribute, which went down well, the other real ales were Sharps Atlantic,GK Abbot and Sharps Doom Bar.
Food was being served but the pub was very busy with drinkers.
A very pleasant pub to have a drink in.

This attractive weather boarded pub situated in the middle of Beckenham High Street, was first mentioned in public records as far back as 1662. The pub today retains something of a traditional appeal, despite being under the umbrella of the M&B pub-co. The U shaped interior is fairly compact and cosy, wrapping itself around a nice curved, centrally positioned servery. The decor incorporates plenty of dark wood panelling and fittings and there is a pleasant brick fireplace to the right of the bar with an etched pub mirror above. There is a decent amount of banquette and standard seating available, although space was at a premium on our Sunday afternoon visit. Old black and white photos of Beckenham lined the walls and a TV was on showing a sports channel to the left of the servery whilst music played in the background. Outside, a large split level patio provided plenty of picnic benches for sun worshipers to enjoy their Sunday roasts from, with a couple of covered spaces available for smokers to shelter under as they wait for the first signs of decent weather this year. There is an extensive pub grub menu available with lots of good value meals deals, but we found the kitchen staff struggling to cope and had to wait a long time for our food to arrive, although we were at least forewarned when we ordered.
Six hand pumps (one more than their website credits them as having) were dispensing Wadworth 6X, Wells Bombardier, Harvey’s Best, Shepherd Neame Early Bird, St Austell Proper Job and Hopdaemon Incubus. I tried the last two and whilst the Incubus was a bit tired, the Proper Job went down a treat. The landlord seemed like a nice bloke and the bar staff just about held things together as the crowds eventually started to subside.
All things considered, this is a pretty good pub and much better than I’d expected it to be. It’s a nice historic building with a decent ale range and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and I would be more than happy to spend another lunchtime or two in here.
