Large roadside pub on the road into Hatfied from Potter's Bar.
Busy on Saturday night, mainly with diners, but there ware a few drinkers. As with many such pub, all th etables were laid out for diners; drinkers were required to either prop up the bar of sit on fireplaces, window sills etc.
Only one real ale available, Augustus Maximus, very average and very expensive.
Below average.

Strongers . left this review about Cock Of The North
I had a bite to eat with the family in here a couple of Sundays ago and although the food wasn't that great I thought that it was reasonably priced for what it was. The staff seemed very young and it seemed to take a lot longer to get served at the bar when their manager/supervisor wasn't about. The Country Bitter was ok and AK was also available along with Fosters, Stella, Kronenburg, Strongbow and Guinness.
It's a big place and like most roadside pubs on main roads it is very much geared towards dry sales making it more of a family pub than an ‘out on the tear' pub. There is a covered and decked area out the back that leads onto a very large garden that I'm sure is very nice in the summer.
This is ok to pop into for some refreshment if passing, but I wouldn't go out of my way.
