Update April 2010 - Seems like the new management failed, the opening times were restricted to evenings only, and pub is now closed & boarded up with lease available. Rating reduced to zero for that reason

Update Sept 2009 - "Campbells Bar" has now reverted back to previous name of The Anchor & is under new management

Luckily not reverted back to Watney's Red Barrel, four draught bitters listed, Ringwood's best, Courage Directors, Bombardier & Summer Lightning

I Had Directors, it was wonderful, a while since I had such a nice pint

Food is available, but seems to be sarnies & the like. They have "specials" board but when I ordered one it seems the chap who did it had gone up the road

So ordered cheese roll, no rolls, so had a baguette [at no extra cost] £2.50, came with a bit of side salad

The interior has had a face lift and is looking much more cleaner & spruced up now

Obviously the new licencees are settling in still and have to get more organised, so I will leave it at 2 stars for the moment

If it were a bit closer to me I would probably use it as my local

Oct 2008 Somewhat "tired & worn" interior, which belies the exterior. Not the sort of place you would take anyone you wanted to impress, like your loved one or a customer

However the welcome was friendly enough, beer normal stuff, food available at reasonable bar prices

Could do with a big spend on it really
