Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Thatched House
No longer any thatch in sight, and the original building has been extended at the front, but its position overlooking Langstone Harbour remains the selling point here. The various seating / dining areas are nothing to write home about, but late afternoon on an early Spring day the front beer garden tables were the place to be. Standard Greene King menu, and just IPA (badly overpriced at £3.90) available from the three handpumps, with reversed Abbott clips on the other two.

A spectacular location overlooking the entrance to Langstone Harbour, and they make the most of it with plenty of outside seating. Even from inside, there is a grand roofed orangery at the apex of the single, large, L-shaped bar, and there are large picture windows at each side. The bar is informally divided into various eating areas and it's an impressive place to sit – however, it's run by GK, selling the slop they palm off as food to families and loud parties who come to spoil the enjoyment others have of the wonderful location. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, though, so it's not all bad. Two ales on, IPA and Abbott, nothing special about either. I agree with the reviews below in that it's a place worth avoiding on bank holidays and Summer weekends, but it's fine to sit and enjoy the surroundings when it's quiet.

Dropped by on the off chance Good Friday lunch time, it was packed, queuing at bar. I gave up and left. From what I saw on my very brief visit food looked fine, beer choice nothing special, location great
May go again but not on a sunny Bank Holiday
Even though last review was 10 years ago, it is not a pub I would travel very far for, but does have view & walk appeal
