A classic looking wedge shaped pub that doesn't really live up to its looks. Rather straight forward but bland interior with three handpumps on the bar, one was being utilised as a kitchen roll holder, one a turned Doom Bar clip the remainder naked, so no real ale to be had, went for a Beavertown Neck oil which after a couple of minutes of fiddling about in the cellar it was decided this too was off, so half a Guinness it was. another pub, not the first today with seemingly clueless management.

A Victorian High Street pub, previously The King's Hotel, opposite the King's Theatre. It consists of a single corner bar with standard furnishings, bland décor and not much atmosphere. Two pumps on the bar with reversed clips, plus Pride, which wasn't that well kept. The clientele were young, the staff were friendly and polite, but somehow it doesn't appeal that much. There are better options nearby for theatre-goers and drinkers alike.
