Still a Hall and Woodhouse pub and by no means one of their better ones. It's tired, run-down and unappealing, feeling more like a Harvester than a Badger outlet. There is a large car park cum ashtray and a seating area outside which offers views of the petrol station opposite. There is a terraced garden at the back which, like the bar, was over-run with screaming feral children. Inside, there is a pleasant seating area near with a woodburner near the front door, while the rest of the interior was a rather drab single bar which felt like a shed with a gaming machine. The young bar staff were led by a bearded chap who resembled a well-known comedian (Hale or Pace, I'm not sure which is which) comedian but without the humour. Food was over-priced and served in a multiplicity of enamel bowls, far too fussy to be enjoyable. Only one ale on draft, Tanglefoot, which was in poor condition, though there were several Badger beers available in bottles. No cash was allowed, card only. I am unlikely to be charmed back here.

This is a Hall & Woodhouse pub that seems to be more geared towards eating rather than drinking.
Quite busy on a Saturday afternoon with many tables sporting a 'reserved' notice.
Usual range of H&W beers which aren't my ales of choice. Having said this the 'Hopping Hare' (seasonal) pint I had was really very good.
A place to take your other half or family members to.
