Previously The Amport Inn, the pub is under new ownership of the Upham Brewery since Quinno's review, below, but the interior hasn't changed much. The pub's original rural charm is largely gone, wood laminate floors and bland décor add nothing, and it's primarily aimed at diners and B&B guests. There is a reasonable car park at the front and side, while the garden has some lovely views across the Hampshire countryside. The beers are one area of improvement, however, four ales on handpump all from Upham. I had Tipster and Punter, both in excellent condition. Staff were friendly if a little slow, but the guests were fairly irritating, selfish and unsociable. Biscuits were available for canine customers. It's well worth a visit for lunch and a few beers, and it's a good base for visiting local attractions.

Doesn’t look much like a pub from the outside, just a fairly plain pub sign atop a post as an indicator. Looked like another recent refurb and it’s mainly set for upmarket dining over some mixed seating areas but does have some loungey areas for drinking. Three ales, Bowmans Swift One (fair), Ramsbury Gold, Upham Punter. Magazines and papers available. Front patio seating with views over the green gully would be nice on a summer’s day. The upmarket gents toilets were struggling with two of the motion sensor taps not working and third emitting a small trickle, ironic given the monsoon conditions outside on Saturday.
