The pub is strangely or maybe not almost exactly the same as Old Boots describes it some eight going on nine years ago, the only differences I could see were a couple of large TV screens showing cricket, England v New Zealand , while I was briefly there. The other difference being there are now three handpumps on the back bar, not having read Old Boots review until I had ordered I totally missed them and ordered a lager shandy from the mundane keg selection. Had I seen the handles I would have had a choice of.... Doom Bar and Dark Star Hophead, I anm only sumising that the quality may be challenging as this pub has Lager drinker written all over it.
Probably won't be back.

Two rooms in typical Pubco pub style, to the left is a biggish lounge; to the right what is really a games room, with pool, darts and a bit of counter space. The lounge is carpeted and half timbered with a bit of exposed brick, some looking quite old. Traditional furnishing with a mix of bench and chairs, some tables have stylised games boards on their tops. At first glimpse you think it's keg only but a solitary hand pump lurks on the barback and dispensed a poor Doombar, the kind of place you instinctively know only a half is in order. Bottled Spitfire was also advertised on a blackboard as a Real Ale.
