When i first went in the Spinners Arms in 1983 it was a Bass tied house but when i took a photo in 1989 the pub was a banks's tied house.
This was a largish pub and i had a drink of fizzy Bass here as there was no real ale on.

THE SPINNERS TAVERN ON LEES RD OLDHAM WAS OPENED IN SEPT 2005 UNTIL AUG 2008 AS A FUN PUB. SINCE THAT TIME IT HAS BEEN CLOSED AND NEVER RE-OPENED. THE BUILDING IS NOW BOARDED UP AND LOOKS LIKE A DERELICT BUILDING AS IS THE CASE WITH A LOT OF PUBS IN THE AREA. IT IS A DETACHED DWELLING WITH THE BEST NEIGHBOURS THAT ANYONE COULD WISH FOR IN THE WORLD AS OPPOSITE IS THE OLDHAM FIRE SERVICE.IT WAS REPORTED LAST YEAR IN THE OLDHAM EVENING CHRONICLE THAT THERE WERE CANNABIS PLANTS BEING CULTIVATED ON ALL THREE FLOORS WITH A VALUE OF 500K. THE BUILDING HAS NOT RE-OPENED AND IS UP FOR SALE AT THE MOMENT.
