Tried to call in on Friday at 3:30. It's supposed to be open all day, but it was in darkness. There's a "To Let" sign on the pub. I think it's still open as there was an "A" board outside advertising a quiz, but it's definitely on reduced hours.

A J.W.Lees House. When I visited this pub about two years ago it had an unloved and rundown feeling about it and,as such, I did not return until last week as I had heard that it had vastly improved since a new Landlady had taken over many months previously. Well I was very happy to find that she had steered the pub out of the doldrums where it had been languishing and, that both drinkers and diners, were returning to this now clean and tastefully furnished establishment in their former numbers. The only reservation I have is that there is an ever present smell of cooking in the background. So a better extractor system would not go amiss in the kitchen.
There is a Lounge Bar,a Tap Room and a dedicated Dining Area. There is easy access and toilet for disabled customers. To the side of the pub there is small Car Park and Smoking Shelter. A further Car Park is on the opposite side of the road.
Cannot comment on the Menu as did not see it. However, enjoyed my visit and it is now back on my "Pub Crawl List".
