Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Imperial
Very imposing hotel, right in front the railway station, with a bar open to the public on the left-hand side under the arcaded side elevation. Plush but anonymous furniture in the various (partially opened-out) rooms, with many tables laid up for dining in the parts which operate as Thai restaurant. However, it retains a limited amount of general seating in a couple of areas around the counter. With three handpumps on the counter, I found Pride, Hobgoglin and the local Stroud Budding (£2.00, half) available while waiting for the train.
