Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Globe Inn Marsh

This attractive old weatherboarded pub was transformed inside a few years ago into a curious yet quite appealing bar / café / bistro / delicatessen blend. A counter-less servery now faces you as on entering, stacked with various breads, olives, nuts and spirits. A compact lounge / dining area lies to the left, a single large table occupies a space beside the main door and a larger dining room can be found down a single step to the right with a patio terrace beyond. The five handpumps are initially far from obvious, but I found four real ales being served: the 'house' (Tonbridge Brewery) Lookers Liquor (£3.90) and Hookers Hooch, the Skylarking session IPA from Pig & Porter and the ubiquitous Harvey's. Up to six keg beers are dispensed from taps on the notional bar-back and five boxed ciders are also available. With a relaxed atmosphere, this unusual place is worth a stop away from the touristy town centre.

A white weatherboarded pub in a street of eighteenth century cottages on the landward side of Rye. Formerly known as The Globe, this pub has had a chequered history of late-one iteration being some kind of Indian restaurant. After a period of closure it has been refurbished in eclectic style by a small Kent based group of freehouses, Ramblinns.
The inside of the pub, while having been opened up, has numerous drinking or eating areas, decorated by a plethora of agricultural or fishing related memorabilia, giving a cluttered, intimate atmosphere. Facing the front door is a kind of altar bearing tribute in the form of supplies and provisions, headed by a curious arrangement of casks and handpumps. Behind this, where the acolytes take one's orders, is, instead of statues of saints, a bank of (craft) keg founts.
One would have to agree that the pub is primarily food led, but drinkers are welcome. On our visit, mid afternoon on a mild but blowy Saturday at the start of the Rye Bay Scallop festival, The Globe was heaving with a mixed trade of lunchers, drinkers and walkers, some of whom had decided to bring their raucous children with them. Having said that, the welcome from the staff was friendly and efficient, the food quirky but enjoyable, and the beer, from Kent and East Sussex breweries in good condition. The house beers are from Tonbridge, with back up from FILO ,Romney Marsh and Harveys.Real cider was available, together with Curious beers from Chapel Down, across the county border in Smallhythe.
The last time I went into this pub was in the late 1970's when it had the nickname of the 'Pub of a thousand policemens'. An improvement, especially for lovers of corrugated iron as an internal wall covering.
