This place has changed hands many times over the last few years and is now owned (I believe) by Charles Wells. It is predominantly a restaurant (and ridiculously expensive) - we paid £77 for two main courses, a glass of wine and some water. The pub is trying to be 'posh' but is just pretentious - I do object to paying that much for a meal and to be served by a guy in ripped jeans. Everything we ordered they got wrong (drinks, vegetables, main courses, you name it) and they hung my coat in/near the kitchen so it stank of chips!! When we visited, it was dark, freezing cold and icy and yet they had Veuve Clicquot champagne buckets on the tables outside!! Ridiculous. Shame, because the location would be great for a village pub.
