Steve C left this review about The Camelford Arms

The Camelford Arms was previously known as the White Horse and now advertises itself as a no nonsense community local where everyone is welcome as long as they are nice. Their website proudly says that there is no fancy food here, just good old honest pub grub. The management are also keen to let it be known that animals are more than welcome. This is a long single room pub with a plasma screen that was off on Wednesday evening whilst a Champions League game was in progress on Sky and ITV so sport is obviously not high on the agenda here. There was some low background music playing and the website states that there is no loud music in this pub. There is a quiz every Thursday from 21:00 and there are extended opening hours every night including until midnight on Thursdays and 1am on Friday and Saturdays. The bar is lined with bar stools so it could become a problem getting served if the locals tend to sit at the bar, but there was no such problem during my visit. Standard draught and Sagres are available and the four hand pumps were drawing Harveys Best, Bombardier, Shottle Farm Brewery’s 8/- and Thwaites Original. The Thwaites was on good form but on the steep side at £2 for a half.

I would have no problem popping back in here for another beer, but the prices may dictate that I wouldn’t stay all evening.
