The Bedford Tavern is a gay friendly L shaped pub that had a welcoming atmosphere when I visited at 20:00 yesterday (Tuesday) evening. The bar is to the left and is stocked with standard draught and three hand pumps were drawing Otter Bitter, Harvey’s Best and Old Rosie. There is a piano on the right hand wall and there was some low background music playing. There is a seating area at the rear to the right, but the lights were out as it was quiet. The lights were also quite dim in the bar area and there was a red hue from the painted walls. I didn’t spot a TV, but there is a quiz every Wednesday from 20:30.

It is common knowledge that there are lots of gay friendly pubs in the Brighton area and I must say that the vast majority have been very welcoming. This is one such pub that I would have no problem returning to.
