Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Queens Head

Attractive village pub, one of many interesting buildings facing the elongated green. The two main seating / dining areas have been refurbished in quite a sparse, semi-traditional style, although the smaller back room has more character. However, on a hot summer day, almost everybody was out in the side decking terrace and beer garden. With three of the four handpumps in use, I found the obligatory Harvey's plus Long Blonde (£4.80) and Old Man from Long Man being dispensed.

The Queen’s Head is a fourteenth century pub that faces the green in the centre of Sedlescombe village. To the left of the pub is a car park and to the right is a large grass covered beer garden with picnic tables and covered patio. Inside the pub, the bar along the rear wall supports a standard and premium keg selection and four hand pumps. One of these was unused which left Harveys Best, Sharps Doom Bar and Long Man Brewery’s Long Blonde as the cask ale options. The bar area in the centre of the pub has a piano and few tables but the main seating areas are located to the left and right. The seating in the low beamed left-hand room is faced by a large inglenook. At the rear is the ‘art gallery’ room where art for sale hangs from the walls. The tables in here run down the centre of the room making a long table. Against the left wall is a television which may be used for showing World Cup Rugby, there is no live satellite sports. Live music was advertised for an upcoming Saturday, but this is not a regular weekly occurrence.
This is primarily a food led pub, the kitchen is open for lunch and dinner through the week and until 21:00 and 20:00 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. I didn’t look at the food menu, but the venison sausage and mash on the specials board was priced at £15.95.
There were only two other customers during my recent Saturday afternoon visit, which was surprising because it was a very pleasant day. This place was a little too foodie for my liking so I wouldn’t plan to revisit just for a beer again.

We stoped at this unique and tranquil pub while passing through sedlescombe on our way from Hastings. Both tired and hungry it was a welcome treat to be met by friendly and cheerful faces behind the bar. my partner and myself felt at home straight away and decided to eat. I had the homemade salmon roulade' which was the best i have ever had, while my partner had wild pigeon breast, which was cooked to perfection and flavourable with the homemade chutney. we asked to see the chef and to our disbelive this young man came to see us who was very polite and very passionate about his food. we would recommend this comfortable pub that seems to cater a varied variety of people from families to local drinkers. we will be back !!
