A village inn with a rentable apartment, well described by BF, below. The pub makes the most of its cultural connection with the folk band The Yetties who take their name from the village, using the skittle alley as a cross between a shrine and a gift shop in their honour when it's not hosting live music. The atmosphere when we went in was mixed – the staff were friendly, but some of the elder locals were a bit suspicious. There were 4 draft ciders available, and two ales, Yeovil YOLO and DBC's Tom Brown. The beer was in excellent condition, well worth coming back to try.

Recently taken over by an enthusiastic new team, this 15th century freehouse is traditional and charming. The low ceiling creates ambiance,to the right of the entrance there is a large real fireplace with a mix of trad furniture. To the right the area is carpeted with more wooden furniture, while down a step is an overflow area with two more tables and a door to the beer garden and skittles alley. The semi circular bar is in the centre of the room and is the focal point of the interior. The landlady explained that she sources most drinks and food from within 20 miles, there is an emphasis on cider and perry with five handpumps devoted to them. There are three real ale handpumps offering Dorset Brewing Durdle Door ,Piddle Brewery Mad Hare (both on very good form) and Palmers Copper, while four keg taps were offering two sparking ciders,a standard lager and a Piddle Brewery Keg Lager. There is even Dorset distilled gin.
The menu looked very interesting with sandwiches and jackets, through to English tapas and small dishes with a short selection of mains all at very reasonable prices and all using local produce.Food will be served at any table and tables can be booked,so at busy times you may find a lot of reserved tables, but there are bar stools to pitch down on.It's a proper pub,and is in no way gastro so expect a friendly and chatty welcome from behind the bar.A vast improvement on the previous regime who had bizarre opening times, food is now served every day , hours are traditional, although during the week there will be an afternoon closure.
I really enjoyed my visit and will most certainly be back,it's worth seeking out if you are in the Wriggle Valley.

Excellent country village inn with a warm welcome, pleasant ambience and comfortable bar areas. Only one ale on, but it least it was Doom Bar - so worth the visit. My wife gave the place extra Brownie points because they have individual bottles of sparkling wine. We didn't eat, but menu looks OK if a little pedestrian and slightly overpriced. Yetminster is the home of The Yetties - one of England's most popular pop/folk groups.
