E TA left this review about The Tavern

This large town pub sits on a busy road through a large housing area. It was built some time around the mid-20th Century in mock-Tudor style and has a forecourt with limited parking as well as a small garden. Opposite are a couple of local shops. Inside are two bars, a small public bar to the right and a larger L-shaped lounge to the left, both carpeted. The public bar has a pool table, dartboard, gaming machines and decorative yoof grunting happily in the corner. The lounge has a few tables and comfy chairs, two more gaming machines, a nice fireplace and a sweetie dispenser. Fish and chips were advertised, but I couldn’t see a menu so don’t know if there was any other food on offer. The staff were a bit vague, the locals tolerant, and the free WiFi working well. In addition to the usual megakeg, there was one ale on, Adnams Lighthouse, which was in very good condition and most enjoyable. A decent local, worth dropping in when passing.
