Well worth a visit, well run pub without the idiots.London Pride in bottles, mild at a good price plus the usual lagers.Karaoke on a fairly regular basis if that's your thing.Good fun night which seemed to cater for the more mature clients, lots of 60 s music. They have various charity/fun days with bbq

The Scruffy Duck is a cosy back street local with a bar located to the left of the entrance and the main seating area, a pool table and a dartboard up a couple of steps in front of the entrance. There was some random music playing off the jukebox on Monday afternoon last week and I didn’t spot any TVs. There is a large chalkboard on the wall that listed the bar menu where most meals hover around the £5 mark. The usual suspects are availbel from the bar and the two hand pumps were drawing gangly Ghoul and XX Mild, both being Greene king offerings. Karaoke was advertised for the upcoming Friday night, but I’m not sure if this is a regular thing. There is a beer garden and some covered seating out the back.

This is a friendly pub and better than its peers on the high street.

Previously The Victory, The Scruffy Duch is now a very nice back street freehouse with decent ale and a thriving community spirit. A very warm welcome awaits visitors (especially if you can play euchre)in this beautifully restored corner sited Victorian building which retains its links with the former Chatham Dockyard. THere were two ales on today, both from the Nelson Brewery, a relatively new micro in the Dockyard site. I had a pint of Midshipman Dark Mild - fresh and beautifully kept. Well worth finding for a pint or two, and strongly recommended for a town crawl.
