Work has started to convert this to a burger bar and flats.

A large town pub set in what was once a fine Edwardian plaza, Livingston Circus (named after the famous explorer), but which is now just another badly laid-out traffic junction surrounded by run-down shops. The pub has a single large, crescent shaped bar, a grand room in a traditional format. The theme is unmistakably football, this now being the closest pub left to Priestfield Stadium. A large collection of Gills and other football memorabilia decorates the walls and ceiling. The landlord is welcoming, the locals are friendly and the pub dog, a large mastiff, keeps a sage eye on the bar. There is a pool table, an intrusive juke box and some interesting original fittings behind the bar. Two ales on, I tried the London Pride which was in good condition. Worth a visit (even on a non-match day) and I would include in a crawl.

Popped in this afternoon before the match. This is a very good football pub; footy memorabilia adorns the wals (and ceiling), numerous screens show games on Sky and the bar staff are supremely organised and work well as a team to serve the thirsty hoardes in the run-up to kick off.
They also have an excellent jukebox, which deserves a mention.
The downside is that there is no ale and everyone gets plastic glasses (on match day at least).
I'd recommend this for any away fan looking for a pre-match pint in a decent, friendly environment.
