E TA left this review about The Kings Arms Inn

A large Victorian roadside pub which has been substantially renovated and extended, losing much of its character in the process.  There is a large stony car park next to the site to complement the tiny parking area at the front, though sadly an elderly moron decided to park in the gate to the former because he couldn’t be bothered to walk an extra 5 yards.  The staff were cheerful and friendly, and I felt they were very patient with aforementioned moron when he didn’t quite grasp why there was cider coming from a tap, labelled ‘cider’, instead of bitter.  The interior consists of a small bar at the front and a much larger, darker dining room at the side.  Both rooms are full of dining tables and there is no room left for standing or socialising.  Food was freshly cooked and very tasty, though perhaps a little overpriced for what it was.  The wine list was disappointing, but this was made up for by an excellent selection of malt whiskies.  There were 2 ales on:  I had a pint of Exmoor Ale which was in excellent condition, the other was Doombar but we didn’t sample it due to having to drive.  The pub still does B&B.  Overall this was an enjoyable stop, and I’d be very happy to come back to eat or drink when passing.
