E TA left this review about The Three Compasses

A large village pub, looks Victorian but is probably 1920s or 30s, set in the centre of a modern thriving village. There is limited parking on the Square at the front. The garden is entered at the side, and this consists of a sheltered, paved patio area with plenty of bench seating, and a grassed area behind. Inside there are two bars, but we weren’t able to go in There was an enticing aroma of freshly cooked food, but time precluded our eating. The landlord was very welcoming indeed, and the locals were friendly, particularly towards the dog. Only one ale on, Otter Amber, which was in good condition but just a bit too chilled for my taste. I’d be very happy to come back here anytime, and I’d like to come and try the food once we’re allowed inside.
