A gay-friendly pub and night club in a Victorian terrace. You enter from the street into a small foyer with the bar counter immediately on your left. Once past that it’s an open area with disco equipment, gaudy décor and loud music. It’s a bit tardis-like, the lighting making it feel larger than it can be given the size of the building. They host regular drag acts, karaoke and other events. No food on offer, and neither real ale nor real cider. When we asked if there was any bottled beer it seems Peroni was the only thing they could manage. Shots and cocktails were cheaper than other nearby pubs. We must have visited on a drag night as even the male staff were so dressed. There were a couple of shifty looking individuals outside, but once in it was fairly friendly, as long as you didn’t mind listening to outrageous stories of sexual deviance against a background of dreadful ‘dance’ music. Not somewhere I’d rush to visit again, but fine if you like cocktails (and indeed cock tales).
