E TA left this review about The Chalk & Cheese

Previously The Brewery Arms, the name changed around 17 years ago, and it’s now owned by Punch Taverns. The building is Georgian, well-maintained and sits by the side of the road in a large, busy village. There are two pleasant garden areas, though they do suffer a bit from traffic noise at busy times. Inside, the single bar has a wooden floor and feels both comfortable and welcoming. There is a brick fireplace. The welcome is enhanced by a warm greeting from the landlady, while the locals were happy to chat. Three pumps on the bar but only ne ale on, Otter Bitter, which was in good condition but priced higher than average. Food is from a standard pub menu and reasonably priced. I’d be very happy to come back in next time I’m passing, and it’s a good place to spend time and enjoy a few beers.
