As mentioned below I feels like an hotel, complete with reception desk at the main entrance and traces of the original coaching inn’s architecture. There was a calm atmosphere, civilised clientele and fairly efficient staff. Als on were Ruddles, Doombar, Abbott, Oakham Buckle Up, Bateman’s Spring Breeze and Flower Child IPA. The TV and gaming machines were mute, unlike the all-too-common screaming child which was almost enough to drive us to murder. It was a functional pub with passable beer, though it has lost much of its character. Good enough for a few beers though.

Hard to believe this is a Wetherspoons.Small and quiet. None of the hurly burly atmosphere of the bigger spoons.Part hotel part pub.Tastefully decorated.Nice rear courtyard.Great pint of Conwyn -Yakima red.

The Greyhound is an original pub / hotel that in recent years has been added to the ever expanding list of JDW hotels. It's not one of their largest outlets and as noted below consists of a central bar area with several rooms surrounding it. There is a nice old tiled floor approaching the bar from a fire door that must have once been the entrance. There is a small patio at the rear.
The fact that the bar is so small is a problem as early on a June Saturday afternoon there were lots of people waiting to get served food and coffees although it did improve later.
The bar has just six hand pumps which had the JDW Trio Of Doom, Butcombe Gold, Dorset Brewing Citrus Maximus and Green Jack Gone Fishing ESB. I went for the Citrus Maximus (£2.49) which seemed in good enough nick but given the name was rather bland. I also tried their not so local from near Caerphilly Hallets cider (£2.69) which because of space constraints was not served from a fridge but apart from that was OK.
This was a decent Spoons especially compared to some of their duller shop conversions.

The Greyhound is in the middle of Bridport.
This pub is a Wetherspoons house that has got a lot more character tham most, there is the main bar area with smaller rooms /drinking areas off it,there was a good choice of beers on and i had a drink of Elgoods GSB which was very nice.
