Set in a farm complex that has diversified into a camp site, shop and bar, the single room dedicated to hospitality is modern, open and airy. There is plenty of parking, though to get to the site is a test of confidence and navigation, as it's reached via very narrow country roads with plenty of farm traffic to keep you alert. The bar is at one end, surrounded by stands of their own ciders, perries and farm foods, plus a wide selection of sauces, pickles and other fancies suitable for gift boxes or one's own hedonistic consumtpion. Behind the bar is an array of 8 taps, seven with their own ciders and perries, one with a cask conditioned lager, Sex In A Canoe from Folly. At the other end of the room is the seating area consisting of a few tables and some comfy sofas. Some of the tables are made from single sections of tree stump, while the decor overall is more Habitat than rustic. No staff behind the bar when we entered, but we soon realised that you have to ring the bell outside to summon someone from their day job. The garden at the front was well maintained and felt very relaxing, at least until the torrential rain sent us back inside. The two barmen who served us were chatty, friendly and knowledgeable. They hold regular food event evenings, mainly to cater for the campsite guests, but it would be well worth a visit if you can brave the country lanes at night. We'll certainly be back.
