Steve C left this review about Dead Wax Social

A sign in the window of Dead Wax Social advertising beer, vinyl and pizza caught my eye so I decided to go off piste and give it a try. The front bar area has shelving up the left-hand wall that is used to store boxes of LPs that are for sale. Opposite, up the right, is the serving counter that supports eight keg fonts that were drawing Kronenburg, Red Stripe, Brixton Coldharbour Lager and three offerings from Laine Brew Co alongside Guinness and Orchard Thieves cider. I went for the LBC Fader which was good and served by a very friendly barman who was singing along to some 1970s classics. Tucked away in the corner down the side of the entrance is a pinball machine.
At the rear of this bar area some steps lead up to a seating area with some standard and high tables and again to the rear there are more steps that lead up to a larger seating area with an open pizza kitchenette and another serving counter where the aforementioned keg options are duplicated across the back bar. The pizzas start at £5 for single and £19 for 20” Margheritas. In the corner is a large DJ booth that sits in front of shelves full of records. Unsurprisingly, regular music nights are held here. There’s some black mould at the top of some of the walls and the building feels slightly distressed, but not unlike most music venues. The music is right up my street and the staff were very welcoming, I liked it and would return.
