This feels more like a community centre than a pub, providing locals with fish and chip suppers, and hosting the local RBL. It consists of a single large bar, unremarkable in décor, indifferent in atmosphere, and 1970s in ambience. The locals were friendly enough, but the barmaid was distinctly sour-faced and reluctant to offer any welcome. There was a pool table and dart board, both in use when we visited. The only ale on was Doombar, plus there was a standard rather unimaginative keg range. On the plus side it was incredibly cheap for the area. Given the restricted opening hours I don’t think I’ll be making any effort to come back here, but then they probably don’t want me to.
