Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about McCanns Hop House

The new McCanns / Angels & Demons brewery tap is housed in a 1950s American oast vacated a couple of years ago by Hukins Hops when they opened their nearby state-of-the-art hop processing facility, with the brewery (based on the former Old Dairy kit relocated from Tenterden) in a side and rear extension. In good weather, a terraced beer garden with canteen-style tables offers fine views across the country over some of the hop gardens, with a small stall offering freshly made pizzas (until the planned restaurant opens). With all four handpumps in use, we found two from McCanns - Hukins Pale and The Troubadour - plus a couple sold under the Angels & Demons brand - Bombay Social and I Spy Dragonfly - and all in excellent shape as you would expect. Fifteen of the 20 craft keg taps were also in use, offering six of their beers in a range of styles (including another version of Bombay Social), six guests and three ciders (with one coming from Biddenden a short distance away up the country lanes). Overall, still a work in progress, but off to a great start.

A taproom on the ground floor of the recently decommissioned American Oast at the home of the enterprising Hukins Hops.Approached through an area of outdoor tables and chairs, the bar sits at the top of a slightly sloping floor:some kind of shrine to beer.A number of keg fonts, serving beers from the Angels & Demons and McCanns stables. A bank of handpumps was sadly unclipped on my Saturday early afternoon visit-this was the result of selling out of cask the previous evening.A glass of Bombay Social was enjoyed, admiring the view over the valley towards Tenterden. The brewery, visible behind a glazed wall, is adjacent, in an extension of the old hop picking machine shed.

Open for three weekends, this is a work in progress, with much fitting-out to be completed: a restuarant is to follow. I understand food trucks make an appearance.Presently, opening hours are confined to Fridays,Saturdays and Sundays. It would be advisable to check before travelling.

Being on a farm, the Hop House is fairly off the beaten track: the number 12 bus from Maidstone to Tenterden does pass the end of Bugglesden Road, but I'm not sure if it offers a request-stop option. As a fairly local resident, I would be most unwilling to walk along the A262 as there are no pavements.
This is a welcome addition to an area whose pubs have tended to rest on their laurels.
