Blackthorn _ left this review about The Aperitivo! Co

A recent opening on the site of a rather short-lived French bistro, this is not a pub in the traditional sense but an outlet for a local producer of vermouths and liqueurs, although there is also a limited selection of drinks on tap.

Décor wise it feels more like a café perhaps with it’s chequered tablecloths, pastel coloured paintwork and large, full height windows looking out on to the street. Flooring is dark, polished wooden boards and there was some colourful artwork on the rear wall, but little else of any note. A large bar counter was off to the left, although table service seems to be the order of the day here with the friendly barman seating us and bringing over a drink’s menu. Thankfully there was no service charge added on as is so often the case in these situations.

Although there was only one handpump on the bar dispensing a Keller Pils lager from a local micro, there were a further five taps on the back wall. Great, some craft beer options I thought, and perhaps a cider too. Sadly not, these were all for cocktails. There was a small selection of bottled beers available, again from local Bristol breweries, and although the barman thought there may be some cans of cider, these were subsequently found to be unavailable as they “hadn’t been in the ‘fridge”. So as a pub, it’s a bit of a disappointment all round really, although if you want to try some local sprits it’s a good bet.
