Will Larter left this review about Notsa

This is a cafe bar - its name a simple reversal of the name of the village - in a plain rectangular building extending perpendicularly back from the road, being accessed through the right hand corner of the roadside building in half-timbered style. The front of the cafe is a large open space to full height, with the bar counter at the rear having an additional seating space above it, among the rafters. (This is a style that is also seen in the same owners' converted bank in Matlock, The Pointing Dogs.) There are four hand pumps with beers all from Derby Brewing Co, and about a dozen keg taps, half of them mainstream, two from Derby, plus others from Deya, North, Northern Monk and Thornbridge. My half of Mercia from cask was slightly murky but quite drinkable (NBSS 2.5). I managed to find myself a small table upstairs - it was very busy on a midweek lunchtime, with a strong smell of food; this didn't enhance my drinking experience, so I'm not making any plans for a swift return here.
