Blackthorn _ left this review about Padstow Brewing Co. Tasting Room

A recent opening in the former Post Office, this is a fair sized pub although the smaller, right hand room also doubles up as a shop for some of the company’s products such as beer in both bottles and mini-kegs, as well as gin, clothing, tote bags and glassware.

Internally it’s quite contemporary with some sort of dark wood strip on the floor and plain, whitewashed walls and ceilings. Dark blue wood panelling was on the lower part of the walls, and there were a few pieces of artwork dotted around to provide a splash of colour. Lighting was a mixture of different styles, including some shades that had been made out of rope which was, I suppose, appropriate given the location. Furniture was the usual mismatch in such places with some tables being quite smart looking marble affairs, whilst others looked to have been made from old wooden boards. Other than that, there was little of any note, and the overall feeling was a little sterile.

Despite four handpumps on the bar, only one was in use dispensing their own May Day. There were a number of keg taps on the wall behind the bar, and a menu on each table highlighted the current range which were presumably also all their own and on our visit consisted of Shallow End, Pocket Rocket, Lobster Tale, Pockarillo, Go Man Go, Sundowner and Cold Desert. If you couldn’t make your mind up, you could have a flight of three thirds although this did work out somewhat more expensive.
