Old Boots left this review about Roland's

New (April 2022) bar on Harrogate’s main drag, housed in a fine old building the new exterior woodwork is very neatly executed, the tall windows being able to open widely should we get an hot summer. Internally a mix of old and new styles, rough floorboards and some exposed stone complements modern furnishings including metal tables which I predict will be a noisy nuisance when the place is busy. Tall tables and stools in the front window with booth like seating down the side wall. Medium height tables and chair-stools are located further back. The counter is a nice wooden affair in a traditional style, beer is served from two horseshoes with five taps each of various European and UK keg beers and Aspalls cider, there’s also a solo keg tap. Behind are two shelves groaning with spirits for cocktails, a QR code on each table takes you their website drinks menu as it’s meant to be table service, there is a “wait to be seated” sign. I probably don’t need to tell you lighting is from dangly Edison bulbs and the music is constant.
