Old Boots left this review about The Whistle & Flute
Trendily decorated bar on the road up to the Canning Circus pub mecca. Another shop conversion like its smaller neighbour “The Good The Bad The Drunk” down the hill. Quite an elegant frontage leads down a short ramp to the L shaped bar area, the counter is to the rear right. A mix of plain coloured walls compete with exposed brick, industrial fittings of course, although some of the Edison light fittings are inventive. Six hand pulls of smaller breweries offerings plus eight fairly well known keg brands and two Guinness founts, except one isn’t; it’s a USB charging station. Furnished mostly with chunky tables with tall stools or chairs, there’s a leather sofa and armchairs opposite the counter. There’s a couple of outside tables but not sure I’d want sit beside the very busy Derby Rd. Constant music of varying styles, WhatPub says live music too, perhaps this happens in the far end of the L round the corner to the left. There’s an awkwardly placed dartboard.

New pub housed in a former menswear shop - hence the name. Opens 15.04.22. Six hand-pulled ales available, plus eight keg lines.
