One of just a few pubs in the city centre I'd yet to visit, I've been meaning to get to this Belgian-themed bar for a while.

It has a corner location and is set slightly on a slope, meaning that the bar is spread over two levels, with a small seating area including a sofa near the entrance and a larger area on the upper level. There's no cask beer here, but there are several kegs spread over both levels of the bar. Beers listed were Leffe Blonde, La Chouffe, Delirium Tremens & Red, Lindemans Kriek, Tiny Rebel Clwb Tropica & Westmalle Dubbel.

There seemed to be more staff in than customers on our Saturday lunchtime visit. It soon became apparent that a couple of people sat at the bar were also related to the pub. One could have been the owner. The other was possibly an acquaintance. Either way, it's not particularly lively during the day. Although, I suspect it gets much busier at night.

Prices aren't on the cheap side, but at least the staff were fairly friendly. I may call in again here one day, if I'm passing, but it's not really a destination pub for me.

A Belgian bar. As noted it is on two levels with the bar on the upper. Lots 9f wood make up the interior with a mixture of high and low seats. Plenty of Belgian beers available so I promptly went for a German one. Its not really my kind of place but that's not to say it's rubbish. If you like your Triple Karmeliet and such you'll like the place.

As you may guess from the name this is a Belgian beer cafe. It's on two levels, you enter into the lower area from the street, then there's a few steps up to the main seating area and bar. Quite a lot of Belgian beers on keg and loads in bottles. There's a couple of booths, one occupied by a Johnny Vegas lookalike and some friends, although it could have been the man himself as he lives in Merseyside, I didn't ask him anyway. The rest is mainly dining tables and chairs. It's pretty expensive, but there's a pleasant atmosphere and the barmaids were friendly. No problem with calling in here again.
