Blue Scrumpy left this review about Old Brewhouse

The Old Brewhouse is situated in buildings around a courtyard in the Cusworth Hall complex of buildings, which itself is located in parkland. I remember having a wander around the park on a previous visit to the Doncaster area back in 2018. There are some fine views from the other side of the building from the Brewhouse itself.

The bar itself is located in a two-storey stone-walled room to the side of the courtyard. There is limited seating inside, but covered outdoor seating in the courtyard itself. Toilets are also located in the courtyard. A radio channel was playing from speakers and news was breaking of something significant happening in Balmoral...

Apart from the breaking news, my visit here will be memorable for the fact that the Brewhouse had none of the 1086 Brewery's beers on. There were 4 handpulls, but the only one clipped was for Weston's Cloudy Vintage cider. I did enquire as to the availability of their beers, but was told that none were currently on and it would be another 24 hours before any could be tapped. Other than the cider, only a bog standard keg range was on offer.

A CAMRA discount is offered on the ales (if only there were any!), but not on the cider. With no choice available, I had the cider, for which the discount does not apply. £2.40 for a half seemed a bit steep for Yorkshire. Add on the £1.10 car parking charge for an hour in the car park and £3.50 is an eye watering price for a swift drink.

Coffees, cakes and snacks are also on offer, with a window also selling these items to passers by on the outside of the Hall itself. However, the courtyard appeared to have just drinkers present.

This is certainly a nice location, but with the lack of real ales and the expensive pricing, I cannot really recommend it.
