Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Pont Tap

Micropub in the centre of Ponteland that provides a suitable and probably better alternative to the Blackbird.

It's a simple, square room located up some steps from the road. Inside, there were 2-3 other customers and a friendly young barmaid. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but my 9-year-old child was also made welcome.

There's a decent range of 4 real ales here, all from the region - Hexhamshire Shire Bitter, Hawkshead Lakeland Gold, Wylam Fleek & Great North Eastern Antidote. In addition, craft beers were Two By Two Pale, Northern Monk Death & Tiny Rebel Cali Pale. The 12% Death was very tempting, but I instead opted for the Fleek, which was good, but probably not as good as the Death!

Welcoming micropub that features in the Good Beer Guide. I'm surprised this hasn't been reviewed previously.
