A friendly little micro with stripped floorboards and terracotta walls and ceilings but with conventional furniture for a change. The adjoining area is an art gallery. Four cask ales, as well as a Kentish cider, were on handpump: Wilde Child Risk Avoidance, Grizzly Grains Lustre, 3 Brothers Maple Syrup & Blueberry Stout and Brew Social Hop Trio 3. Well worth dropping by and closer to the city centre than it looks.

A nice internal 70s vibe from the bright orange/red painted walls, which l quite liked. This micro had a relaxed feel to it and we enjoyed some quaffing before heading back to the train station. All their beers were reasonably priced for a city centre micro and the beers we tried were in excellent condition. Four cask ales Grizzly Grains Waimea & Pacifica, Mallinsons Lupulin Trio, Hophurst Porteresque and Serious Brewing Redsmith. Two ciders Cockeyed Cider Co Devon Jasper and Dudda'sTun Cherry Cider. There was also a choice of four Keg.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Two & Six

Relatively new micro-pub, but actually two adjoining units: the quite dimly lit and simply furnished bar area but, unexpectedly, a very bright art gallery up three steps next door (with a very colourful display of large paintings from a local artist on display). Four real ales - including Whitewell and Redsmith (£4.20) from Serious Brewing and others from Mallinsons and Hophurst - and a pair of ciders served from a bank of six handpumps.

On approach, walking down the street from a few doors away it didn't look open , the internal low lighting not showing up on a rainy night, it of course was and Mr Larter and others were awaiting us inside. It is of course exactly as Will describes below and felt quite cosy inside, helped no doubt by the atrocious weather outside. My beer of choice was the interestingly named Rik Van Nutter from Wilde Child, a nice Chocolate Hazelnut Porter on cask. An enjoyable micro and certainly on a return list.

New micropub in the premises previously occupied by Brew Social. It's nicely done, with bare floorboards for the most part, rough timber wood panelling on the lower walls and a pleasant shade of reddish orange above. The bar, also wood, though smooth, has six hand pumps with four beers and two ciders. These, along with some keg offerings, are listed on a blackboard near the bar. Both my beers were in very good nick and I'm sure I'll be back before long. Handy for the tram stop in Castle Square.
