Blue Scrumpy left this review about Cokeworks Bar

I'm surprised that the large former mining village of Beddau doesn't have a single pub, other than this fairly new micropub. Situated on a parade of shops, it's a single room bar that seems very popular with the local community. A rather loud, probably too loud, group of women had gathered at tables near the entrance. A few of them were playing darts. I guessed it was some kind of regular gathering. Meanwhile a table at the rear was reserved for a group of blokes. I seem to recall the reserved sign saying "grumpy old men" or something similar.

The bar is on the left-hand wall. Whilst there is still a handpull, cask ale has been discontinued. The barman (probably owner) explained that whilst he was a fan of cask ale, it simply wasn't selling and they were having to throw a lot of it away. Indeed, the pub was listed in the 2023 Good Beer Guide, but has dropped out of the latest edition.

Nevertheless, there is still a good craft beer selection. On for my visit were Camden Pale, Tiny Rebel Clwb Tropica, Alpha Delta Achlys, Tenby Son Of A Beach & Flowerhorn Sigh & Yawn. The cider was Gwynt y Ddraig Orchard Gold. Meanwhile, there was a tempting selection of muffins and cakes on the bar which probably go down quite well with the coffees and teas that they also serve.

This is certainly a valuable asset for the local community. I hope they can succeed and maybe one day get cask ale back.
