Will Larter left this review about The Devonshire Arms

This is a fairly recent addition to this site - WhatPub says it was reopened under new management in 2017, and I wonder how long it might have been closed before that. The front door is a glass one that would be more in place in a hotel, but then this pub does also have rooms. Inside it's all smart and modern, with modern pop music on the go. I got the impression that it's a popular village facility, with live music on the last Friday and second Wednesday each month. Most people here at the time of my midweek afternoon visit were eating, including a family celebrating a 40th birthday. There are three hand pumps on a small stretch of the bar counter, all from Abbeydale - I wonder if this is linked to funding of the refurbishment? My pint of Corruption (strange name to give a beer) was in good condition but tasted much like a million other pale Abbeydale beers.
