Will Larter left this review about Hasland Hops

A micropub or bar - purists would cavil at the background music and the large gin list and keg beers - it's a shop conversion anyway, and quite nicely presented, with home made bar, seats and tables. I gathered that the man working behind the bar is not the owner, which seemed a little odd as the place is only open 34 hours a week, being closed Monday and Tuesday and only opening in the afternoon from 4pm except at the weekend. There are four hand pumps, with a cider (I'm not sure if it's considered real by Camra under their revised definition) and three real ales: Blondes from Neepsend and Bradfield, plus Thornbridge Jaipur 5.9%. I went for the latter, the first time I've had this beer for many years. I usually swerve it because of its strength as much as because it doesn't suit my palate, but in this pub it's only £3.80 a pint and it was in very good condition; and I swerve blonde beers even more than I swerve Thornbridge! I quite liked it here, despite the background music, but this was partly because there were no Halloween decorations. With the limited cask beer options, I don't think I'll be coming back at Christmas though.
