E TA left this review about Beambridge Inn
A roadside hotel which majors on its restaurant business. There is a large car park accessed from the A38. This leads to the main entrance, down some steps and through a paved forecourt with benches and tables for al fresco dining when the weather allows. On entry there is a restaurant to the right, while the bar area is to the left. This has a mix of wooden and carpeted floors, but it’s fairly characterless and feels dated. There are no bar stools, and vertical drinking isn’t encouraged. The young staff are attentive and pleasant, and there is popular music playing at a reasonable level. Food is pub grub standard, but with enormous portions. It’s currently owned by Butcombe, so the only ales on were Rare Breed and Original, both in OK condition, plus there’s a dry pump. Keg choices were limited to Guinness, Carlsberg and Bohemia lager. There isn’t really a local cadre, and the majority of customers were elderly drivers. OK for a lunch stop.
