Will Larter left this review about The La'l Nook

A popular micropub in a former shop just off the main drag, if a place this small can have a main drag. It's been quite nicely done, with wedgwood blue walls and some interesting pictures, though it was too busy at the time of my visit to note much in the way of particulars. Five hand pumps on the bar, which seems a lot for such a small room, but I suppose they know what they're doing. My half of Langdale by Cumbrian Ales was a little odd, as it had a lemon sherbet taste on first swig, but this was less apparent on second and subsequent tastes. I guess this was because of an inappropriately tight sparkler, thrusting the hop flavours into the head, though the tasting notes say "amazing aroma and taste of English fruit and marmalade", so maybe I need to get my taste buds checked. Other beers were from Ennerdale, Hawkshead and Bowness Bay, plus Loweswater Gold from Cumbrian Ales.
