Micropub situated in the Fulwell area of North Sunderland. As with many pubs in this area, it does not open until 4pm on a weekday. The couple of hour wait at least meant that I could have a stroll down to the seafront and Sunderland's beach.
Unfortunately, I can't say that this pub was worth the wait. The landlord and his dog were friendly, but the solitary real ale was Double Maxim and they no longer serve real cider as it was going off too quickly during the summer. There are a few keg beers to choose from.
Music was blasting out far too loud for my liking. In fact, the lack of music was one of the things that I really liked about micropubs, but more and more of them are moving away from peace and quiet now. Having been looking forward to paying a visit to the Lighthouse for some time, I have to say that I was disappointed.
