Quinno _ left this review about The Haunt (Phantom Brewery Tap)

Improvements and regular trips here - it seems to be a place where Readingites have their birthday bashes now - beer range has improved and their own brews can occaisonally reach impressive heights. A good selection of guest craft as well. If you are the adventurous type, this is worth a visit.

It's a cold lockup hosting a new brewery and tap (Phantom) with very limited opening hours (see WhatPub). However there is a specific bar area, decorated in black and white, offering-up a craft-tastic selection. Tried three of the Phantom brews which, to be honest, all tasted rather alike. Early days of course. It’s close enough to the station to be worth a nose if you like that sort of thing. Oh, and it's cashless - so card payments only.

Moby Duck left this review about The Haunt

Set in a large unit in a backstreet location, home of Phantom Brewing, open only Fridays and Saturdays. When I found the place I wondered if it was actually open, the only clue being the presence of an outside catering van as seen in my picture, access is through the small door to the right of the main shutters which presumably will be open in warmer months. Inside there is a separate designated drinking area (The Haunt), which is quite smartly done up with some decent seating and heaters on the walls which was a bonus on my visit, it opens out onto the main brewing area where there is additional bench seating. Its all keg here and as Quinno mentions Card only payment.Beers come from 13 taps on the back wall of the bar, additionally cans and bottles can be brought from the fridge. There was five of Phantoms own beers on tap along with eight beers from various guest breweries, I had one of Phantoms and one from Waen, both were good but kept far to cold in my opinion. I was suprised to find up to thirty people enjoying the facilitys given its out of the way location, but once found its not to far from the main town and well worth a look.
