Another fairly new Liverpool micropub that can be found on the busy Aigburth Road.

This one had a strange layout for a micropub and also a slightly different clientele to what I was expecting. On arrival, I first saw a large, young family with kids playing board games near the bar. A single professional-type female was in another corner working away on a laptop.

Whilst later heading to the toilets at the rear, I discovered a second room with further middle class customers. This certainly felt like a well-heeled establishment.

Service was friendly, whilst the 4 real ales on offer were Marble Pint, Thornbridge Jaipur, RedWillow Feckless & Thirst Class Mersey Mild. Craft beers were Huyghe Floris Raspberry, Lervig House Party, Deya Something Good, Black Jack Manchester Tart Stout, Buxton Grinlow & Pohjala Meri. The keg cider was Sheppy's Oakwood.

I wasn't particularly enamoured with my Mersey Mild. But that was most likely the beer itself, as opposed to its condition.

I wouldn't rule out a return trip here. Although, it's still a fair way from my usual city centre haunts.

I really enjoyed my visit here as the staff and owner were very welcoming and chatty. Plus their beers were all in excellent condition. The layout here consisted of a large front room, with the bar positioned along the back room and a small back room. The main feature in here was the array of different floor tiles, keeping the theme as this micro was previously a tile shop. Four handpumps along the front bar, with three in use on my visit serving Carnival Brewery Carmen, Mallinsons Hellertau Blanc and Twisted Wheel Brewery Sunday Sessions. If you're wondering in my photos why there are miniature chairs stuck to the walls? These are coat hangers.

Now open. New micropub and distillery. Small corner shop conversion. 5 handpulls on the bar with beers from Salopian, Higsons, Mobberley and Top Rope on this visit. A variety of craft draught and canned and bottled beers also available. Friendly and much needed in a pretty barren area for pubs.

23/10/19:
UPDATE: Now due to open February. And in a different place a couple of doors away.

New micropub plus distillery due to open Autumn.
