A CAMRA favourite if not a creamer as there’s only 6 pulls and four craft taps, although it is multi award winning, including CAMRA regional pub of the year 2021. It’s in a corner (NE) of the market building, trust me it is, I had to walk round a bit before finding it. In the market so not much room, seating for about 16 people if they’re friends, there’s a covered area opposite with about three times the room. Basically a market stall of the built in variety the counter is at one end, a gas fire the other, benches each side half way, a tall table and a short table with matching stools. Football scarf and old photo decor, there’s no room for owt else. No standing at the bar, apparently an Oldham custom. No toilets.Opened 21st August 2019.

A great set up here, with surprisingly 6 ales on handpump. The barman was chatty and upbeat. The six beers were two from Millstone, Purple Hills Bitter and Stout, Wye Valley HPA, Dark Star American Pale Ale, Pictish Calypso and Indian Brewery Royal Beast. This is the sister pub to the Fox and Pine down the road.

Recently opened micropub within Tommyfield market. It's run by Michelle Riley an experienced landlady and beer festival bar manager. She's also the wife of Chris Riley who has the Regal Moon in Rochdale, so plenty of beer knowledge in the family. Despite being in 3 units it's still tiny. There's only room for 4 tables and a few stools. Called in on Saturday with a couple of friends and were lucky enough to get a table. 6 handpumps with 5 on, Rat White Rat was on the bar, so that was the drink of choice for all our group, we ended up having another round before we had to leave as the market closes at 17:15. Given the small space it's nicely decorated and of course you pretty much have to talk to people as you're sat right next to them. A very good addition to the somewhat lacking real ale scene in Oldham.
